1. Who We Are
QuantDine Ltd ("QuantDine", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17146711. Our registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration reference ZC119810.
We operate the QuantDine platform at quantdine.co.uk — a restaurant analytics service for independent UK restaurants.

2. What Data We Collect
Account data
When you create a QuantDine account we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain text password), and business details including restaurant name, address, postcode, and cuisine type.
Restaurant trading data
You upload or connect point-of-sale (POS) data to QuantDine. This includes order records, item sales, revenue figures, cover counts, and service times. This data belongs to you. We process it solely to provide the QuantDine service.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use QuantDine including pages visited, features used, and session timestamps. This helps us improve the product.
Payment data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We retain records of your subscription plan, billing status, and transaction history.
Communications
When you contact us by email we retain those communications to respond to your enquiry.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and operate the QuantDine platform
- Generate AI-powered analytics and insights about your restaurant's performance
- Send transactional emails including welcome messages, password resets, and your weekly performance digest
- Send marketing emails about new features and product updates — only if you have opted in during signup or subsequently
- Calculate industry benchmarks using anonymised, aggregated data across our customer base (see section 8)
- Comply with our legal obligations
- Prevent fraud and ensure platform security
AI Data Processing
QuantDine uses artificial intelligence to generate insights, recommendations and analysis for your restaurant business.
AI Provider
We use Claude, developed by Anthropic PBC, to power our AI features including performance insights, advice cards, and the QuantDine Intelligence chat.
What data is processed by AI
When generating AI insights and recommendations, the following business analytics data is processed:
- Aggregated revenue and sales figures
- Menu item performance data (names, quantities, revenue)
- Session and time-period performance summaries
- Weather and local event context
- Business targets and baseline metrics
What data is NOT processed by AI
We do not send the following to AI systems:
- Customer personal data (names, contact details)
- Staff personal information
- Individual payment details
- Raw transaction records with personal identifiers
Data retention by AI provider
Anthropic does not use API data to train their AI models. Data sent via the API is processed in real-time and not retained for training purposes. Please refer to Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy for full details.
Sub-processor disclosure
In accordance with UK GDPR Article 28, Anthropic PBC is registered as a data sub-processor for QuantDine Ltd. Data is processed under Anthropic's Data Processing Agreement.
Your rights
Restaurant owners can request deletion of their data at any time by contacting support@quantdine.co.uk. Deletion of your account will remove all business data from our systems within 30 days.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the QuantDine service you have subscribed to
- Legitimate interests — usage analytics, security monitoring, and product improvement
- Legal obligation — retaining financial records as required by UK law
- Consent — marketing emails (you may withdraw consent at any time)
5. Third Party Services
To provide the QuantDine service we share data with the following third parties. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and data processing terms.

Where data is transferred outside the UK or EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 90 days to allow you to reactivate your account or export your data. After 90 days, your data is permanently deleted from our systems.
We retain financial records (invoices, payment history) for 7 years as required by UK law. This data is anonymised where possible.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — for any processing based on consent (including marketing emails)
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@quantdine.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
8. Anonymised and Aggregated Data
We may use anonymised, aggregated data derived from our customer base for the following purposes:
- Calculating industry benchmarks (for example, average revenue per cover across UK independent restaurants)
- Improving the QuantDine platform and AI models
- Publishing anonymised industry insights and reports
This data cannot be used to identify you or your restaurant. Individual restaurant data is never shared with other customers or third parties in identifiable form.
You may opt out of your data being included in aggregated benchmarks by emailing privacy@quantdine.co.uk. Opting out does not affect your access to the QuantDine service.
9. Cookies
QuantDine uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function, including session authentication cookies. We do not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Children
QuantDine is a business service intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@quantdine.co.uk.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
